Many SRT-4 owners notice a large build-up of oil on their cold-side intercooler hose which is leaking from/through the throttle body. Oil vapors from the PCV vent have a nasty habit of getting into the throttle body on the stock system. The SRT-4 being a high horsepower turbocharged car runs a significant amount of piston-to-wall clearance, thus it is especially susceptible to “blow-by” oil residue. Purpose: The purpose of a catch can is to collect oil from your crankcase ventilation system, in order to prevent it from getting into places it shouldn’t be, like your air intake and throttle body. It took me awhile to research everything and find out the proper way to install these, so I wanted to make a thorough write-up on everything I learned. Ok, so here’s a very detailed description of how to install oil catch cans.
